WORKING AT HEIGHTS #2 EMSHIP PROGRAM WITH SAL
                                                              AS SAB PARTNER
Our crew is frequently exposed to a wide variety of work at
height: usually related to rigging and unrigging of cargo, but also
to lashing works, maintenance and more. Following the comple-
tion of our initial shore-based awareness level training in 2015
and 2016, SAL Training Department has now planned an onboard
training campaign across 2017. A specialized trainer performs
3 to 4 day sessions during vessel’s transit. Training content is
designed in line with industry standards and with our special work
environment, procedures and tools we use in day-to-day work. D

Rich J Matheson appreciated in adding to SAL’s engineering knowledge. So we are
cooperation and under supervision of SAL. Their theses are highly

PROTECTING THE NORTH ATLANTIC RIGHT WHALE

Massachusetts Bay, USA – SAL’s MV Annegret was awarded
a Certificate of Corporate Responsibility. The vessel recently
crossed the Stellwagen Bank National Marine sanctuary which
is a main retreat for North Atlantic Right Whales. Being very slow
swimmers, they are heavily threatened by ships collisions. Hence
there is a speed restriction of ten knots for vessels while crossing
the Sanctuary within Massachusetts Bay, US. MV Annegret was
attested a “Grade A” of Compliance.

The North Atlantic Right Whale is one of the most endangered
of all large whales. Probably only up to 350 individuals still exist,
mostly found along the Atlantic coast of North America
